Rally for the Cure — Golf, tennis, dinner events and so much more...

Major step in personalized treatment — Thanks to a 2007 research grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, scientists identified a set of 50 genes that oncologists can potentially use to tailor individualized treatments for all breast cancer patients.

Celebrating Our Successes

"BE PINK"
The BE PINK Pre-Race for the Cure party raised more than $15,000 for our Affiliate in 5 years. Organized by the Twin Tiers Young Professionals, the event reaches out to the under-30 population, encouraging them to begin self exams and be educated about breast cancer. The event also serves as a tribute to survivors and has become a kick-off event for race weekend, with about 200 attendees each year.

"TRY ON FOR THE CURE"
Spring and Summer “try on” events held in partnership with Coldwater Creek (Binghamton) raised $700.00 for the Affiliate last year. Betting that women might like an excuse to come and try on some new clothes, Coldwater Creek offered our Affiliate a $1.00 donation for every “try on” and 10% of sales for that day at the shop.

"RALLY FOR THE CURE"
Rally for the Cure golf events have occurred over the years at golf courses throughout the Twin Tiers. Most recently, an event at the Elmira Country club attracted 47 golfers who helped raise $1535.00.

"CELEBRATING SURVIVORS"
The Twin Tiers Affiliate offer many different ways to celebrate our survivors. Whether it's sharing their story online (link to My Survivor) or running beside them in a race, we look for any opportunity we can get to spotlight how others have fought and won their battle against breast cancer. The event pictured here was a luncheon and fashion show held October 2007 at The Clemens Center.
