Save the Date for the 2010 Race for the Cure

Plans are underway for another successful Race for the Cure by the Susan G. Komen Twin Tiers Local Affiliate. This year’s race will be held on Sunday, May 16th, 2010 and seeks to top its 2009 record of nearly 1,700 participants and more than $60,000 dollars raised. And if history is any indication, they will do it!

The first Race for the Cure was run in 1997 and began at the Arnot Mall. Survivors, family, friends and runners came together to celebrate survivors of breast cancer and honor those men and women affected by the disease. Since then, the number of participants and dollars raised has grown exponentially.

Over the past 4 years, the Race has raised more than $200,000, with roughly 75% of the funds remaining locally to ensure education, screening and treatment for the women in our community. It truly is a race where everyone wins!
